RULES FOR SUBMISSION, REVIEW AND PUBLICATION OF SCIENTIFIC PAPERS

     Paper Submitting Rules

     The paper prepared in accordance with the requirements shall be sent by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
Having received the paper, the editors shall reply to the author.
If the paper is accepted for publication, a letter with the originals of the following documents shall be sent to the Editorial Board (Department of Botany and General Ecology, KubSAU, 13, Kalinin St., Krasnodar 350044):
       • Hard copy of the paper.
       • Form of consent of signed by all authors of the publication.
       • Information about the authors (full name, degree, title, position, place of work, country and city).
     All documents are provided in one copy.
     For the authors from the Kuban State Agrarian University, the original documents can be submitted to the editorial office of the journal: office 639 (Main Building) on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

     Paper Review Rules

     These rules are determined by the Charter of the journal “The North Caucasus Ecological Herald”, compiled in accordance with the principles of the Committee on the Ethics of Scientific Publications (COPE), and carried out in compliance with copyright following the confidentiality policy, with the exclusion of plagiarism according to the following principles:
       - a paper received by the editorial office by e-mail or on an electronic medium by regular mail must comply with the rules adopted in the journal (see Rules for Authors);
       - the review of the article is organized by the editorial board of the journal, which decides on publication; the opinion of the editor-in-chief is decisive;
       - when the paper is rejected, the author is sent a reasoned response or a reasoned proposal for revising the article;
       - the paper to be reviewed is sent by the editor to an expert, i.e. a specialist in this field (hereinafter referred to as the reviewer), either in an open way or one-sided blind (when the author does not know the name of the reviewer); in special controversial cases, in particular when there is doubt about originality of the paper, reviewing is carried out in a double-blind way (neither the author nor the reviewer know each other's names);
       - the reviewer has the right to send the article to the author for revision, providing reasoned comments, but is obliged to maintain confidentiality, i.e. not to disclose information to third parties;
       - the reviewer has the right, in case of suspicion of plagiarism, to inform the editor-in-chief about this, however, providing or quoting in detail the copied source;
       - the reviewer shall adhere to the following main criteria while evaluating the article:
     1) the relevance of the issues raised in the paper;
     2) the novelty of the presented material;
     3) the correctness of the terms used in the paper;
     4) the adequacy and modernity of the methods used;
     5) evidence of conclusions based on the work done;
     6) consistency of presentation;
     7) possession of a scientific style of presentation;
     8) correctness of citation, volume, adequacy and modernity of the reference apparatus used;
     9) compliance with the requirements for the paper formatting in the journal “The North Caucasus Ecological Herald”;
     10) checking for plagiarism with an indication of originality percentage;
     11) other theoretical and methodological remarks;
     12) the presence of errors and typos (corrections cab be made by a proofreader or technical editor if they are not numerous).
     The reviewer (expert) is obliged:
      - adequately assess the degree of his / her competence in the sphere of the paper theme;
      - avoid a potential conflict of interest by notifying the editor-in-chief of its possibility in advance;
      - adequately assess his / her ability to carry out a review within the specified time.
     Re-reviewing is carried out according to the same rules indicated above, provided that the author agrees to finalize the article in accordance with the reviewer's comments and sends the article in the corrected version.
     The original reviews are kept in the editorial office for 5 years, copies of the reviews or a reasoned refusal to publish are sent to the author.

     Paper Publishing Rules

     Papers accepted for publication shall correspond to the scientific trends of the journal, contain new original results of scientific research, theoretical, practical (innovative) developments received by the author, not published anywhere before, ready for use and relevant (in demand) at the present stage of scientific development, or represent scientific and cognitive interest. The paper shall clearly express the current state of the problem, the research methodology and the results obtained.
     More than 25% of the borrowed or previously published text is not recommended (the originality of the article must be at least 75%). The editors do not consider manuscripts that are simultaneously submitted to other journals, as well as works that for the most part have already been published in the form of an article or part of another work by any other print publication or electronic media. When using borrowings from another author's text, a link to the source is required. Verbatim copying, as well as paraphrasing someone else's text, is considered plagiarism. Plagiarism can be detected both at the stage of receiving the paper using computer methods, and at the stage of reviewing. All suspicions of plagiarism are carefully checked. In case of confirmation of plagiarism or falsification of the results, the article is unconditionally rejected.
     All published materials undergo mandatory scientific, stylistic and technical editing in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission for the publication of scientific literature. Scientific review is carried out by members of the Editorial Board of the journal, as well as by invited reviewers. The recommendations of the reviewers are the basis for the final decision on the publication of the paper.
