Seed weight was studied for 28 alpine species in Teberda Reserve. It varied from 0,08 mg (annual Gentiana aquatica) to 6,0 mg (long-lived perennial Anemone speciosa) and tended to increase with plant life span. There were no significant differences of seed mass among four studied plant communities. Seed mass tended to increase with plant regrowth ability after defoliation. Significant positive correlation was found between seed mass and leaf size parameters (moist and dry mass, leaf area).
